Academic Year Program (AYP) students at the Upper Canada District School Board have the opportunity to enroll as a full-time student at one of our local elementary, middle or high schools with instruction from Kindergarten – Grade 12 for students between the ages of 4 – 21. International students benefit from all of the services and supports offered at our schools including a wide variety of academic and applied courses to suit each individual’s unique learning dreams and goals. Courses are offered at varying levels of difficulty designed to prepare students from university, college, or the workplace.
AYP students may choose to enroll at a UCDSB school for as little as one semester (September – January or February – June) or for a more extended period of time, potentially graduating with an Ontario Secondary School Diploma. Whether a student is hoping to expand English language abilities or prepare for future academic and career pursuits, the staff at the UCDSB are dedicated to providing a world class education for all.
An educational plan is prepared based on information received in the student’s application and the results of an English language assessment. The educational plan provides recommendations for grade, level and course placement.
AYP students can also participate in extracurricular activities, live with a Canadian homestay host family, travel to some of Canada’s largest cities and top tourist attractions, access private educational support, and more.
